As 2020 is close to an end, many of us sigh with relief hoping 2021 is a much better year. While some are still undergoing tremendous challenges. I wanted to share with your today about positive things that happened to us in the past year (those of you following my personal Facebook page and Instagram already know about everything else). So, here you go – our End of the Year News.
- The lockdown was a blessing for our family. We all got much needed break, especially Waiguo Baba.
- We have been able to evaluate a lot of our attitudes towards things and people. And we actually got in touch with people whom we haven’t seen or haven’t hear from in a long time.
- Being connected online more has given us an opportunity to get closer to the family. With limited outings people have been reaching out to each other much more frequently. We even found relatives whom we didn’t know existed!
- Our youngest started grade 1. His firsts, and our lasts.
- I joined a parents’ committee in my son’s class. With girls I didn’t have such opportunity as they joined the new school from grades 2 and 5, and those had been already formed. I felt how the dynamics of relationship in my son’s class is very different because of that. And since he is the one who has been exposed to Chinese environment the least, it has given us the opportunity to allow him to built friendships faster.
- I have published a course and 2 e-books in Russian. And I am about to complete another course + 2 courses in the works. I am considering translating them into English but I am not sure whether I want to do it or not yet.
- As some of you know, I run a small business. We were lucky to withstand the challenges everyone faced in 2020 and continue our work. I am grateful for the support of all friends and family who have sent and continue sending positive vibes and prayers.
- We started a family YouTube channel – Waiguomama’s World. It is very small but we are hopeful for it to grow and bring you beautiful melodies.
